In 2018 Catalyst Marine received a grant from MARAD. With this grant, Catalyst Marine has brought to the Kenai Peninsula and the rest of Alaska a Flow Mach 500 Waterjet. The Mach 500 is a 5 axis, ultra-high-pressure waterjet, with a 10’ x 20’ cutting area. This allows us to cut large 5’ x 20’ sheets or put multiple different sheets on the table at the same time. Along with the Mach 500 comes the advanced 3D modeling software FlowXpert and other associated equipment.
The Mach 500Allowing Catalyst Marine to move waterjet cutting in-house, the Mach 500 surpasses what is available in outsourcing and allow Catalyst Marine to provide an option for 3-dimensional cutting. The Mach 500 reduces inefficient steps from current in-house fabrication and eliminates the delays and risks inherent to outsourcing fabrication work.Ideal for precision fabrication, engineered plans for vessel modification, as well as high production scenarios. The capabilities of a single machine to cut precision parts in a wide variety of materials without retooling is critical for fabrication efficiency.
